MAUNALUA FISHPOND HERITAGE CENTER VOLUNTEER WORKHome to one of the last freshwater springs on O’ahu, Maunalua Fishpond Heritage Center strives to protect the several years of hard work that has been done to keep the spring healthy. Volunteers steward the fishpond that spring provides water to. Built to protect the natice plants and animals found in this estuary. They preserve a lot of historical sites such as the mākāhā (fishpond gate) and kū‘ula (fishing stone shrine).
