MALAMA MAUNALUA VOLUNTEER WORKMalama Maunalua is a community based, non-profit stewardship organization perpetuating a healthy and prolific bay. This organization strives to remove invasive species of limu (algae) and restore the native species using science, habitat restoration, planning, and education and outreach.
Over 3.5 mil. pounds of invasive algae has been removed since the start of this program. They have 28+ acres actively maintained and 10,000+ volunteers engaged in Malama Maunalua. Through much planning and outreach, they work in their community to remove invasive species and restore the native. |
