KAUAI HOSPICE VOLUNTEER WORK

The nonprofit organization of Kauai Hospice has been providing love and support through palliative care for people stricken by deadly illness since 1983. Kauai Hospice, believing that a person’s quality of life is not solely determined by how much time there is left, is devoted to caring for their patients in a way that is not centered on the disease but instead a sense of comfort and peace. For these patients and their families, Kauai Hospice and its volunteers continually give invaluable assistance in helping them maintain physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health.

VOLUNTEER INFORMATION
You must be at least 18 years old to volunteer.
To register, fill out the volunteer application.

Volunteer Requirements:

• One three day training course in the work done by the organization.

Volunteer Expectations:

• Volunteers are expected to show compassion, consideration, and effort.
  • Kauai hospice is a home for people who are very old, and often near death. Many of these people have little to no family there for them.
  • The volunteers are there to contribute and help care for these people.
