HAMAKUA YOUTH CENTER VOLUNTEER WORKThe Hamakua Youth Center, founded by the Hamakua Youth Foundation, is a nonprofit organization offering services to the youth. The center’s main purpose is to create a space where the youth may come to be taught skills of life, leadership, arts, environmental expertise, music, etc. As the name states, the Youth Center is based in Hamakua and is focused on educating and empowering the youth as much as they can. There are daily sessions for homework help and tutoring, an after-school program, as well as computers for students to access. This group serves kids from 5 to 18 years of age. The center is always welcoming to volunteers and donations. For more information on their volunteer program, you may contact Mahealani Maikui at (808) 775-0976.
