DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ACTION CENTER VOLUNTEER WORK

The Domestic Violence Action Center is a non-profit organization set up to raise public awareness of domestic violence. The action center has a group of trained people to be there for people who are either going through or have gone through domestic abuse. The center regularly hosts community events such as golf tournaments and beach days to raise awareness for domestic violence and help victims of it. In addition, the Domestic Violence Action Center provides legal services to assist domestic violence victims, including client advocacy, crisis support, risk assessment, and legal representation. You can help fund these services with a $1 donation to the organization.

VOLUNTEER INFORMATION
You must be at least 18 years old to volunteer.
Fill out the Volunteer Application online to volunteer.

Volunteer Requirements:

• ​All volunteers are asked to make a year commitment and are required to participate in our 4-day intensive training.
• The training will introduce you to our agency’s philosophy, an orientation about our programs and a state of the art analysis of violence against women and children.

Volunteer Expectations:

• We have opportunities for those who want to support clients directly and other work that can support our agency operations.
• Service through our helpline and outreach programs are excellent ways to assist victims on their paths to freedom and safety.
• Administrative support is welcome too, and includes assistance with events hosted by the agency throughout the year.
