CommUNITYcares​ VOLUNTEER WORK

CommUNITY Cares is a non-profit based on the Big Island of Hawaii that raises awareness and funds for cancer patients, homeless, and domestic abuse refugees. One of the most notable ways that CommUNITY Cares does this is through its annual event, where attendees can not only have fun dancing and dressing up in costumes but donate hair to help cancer patients.

​Tiana Steinberg was inspired to found this organization when she, herself, received support from others when she was diagnosed with brain cancer. Her organization strives to let those who are struggling know that they are not alone and that the power of the community is there to help them. Any new members to the CommUNITY Cares ohana are welcomed with pride and enthusiasm.
