LANAKILA MEALS ON WHEELS VOLUNTEER WORK

Lanakila Meals on Wheels provides for the elders (kupuna) of Oahu by delivering healthy and nutritious meals to their doorsteps. Currently, the largest and longest-lived organization of its type, Meals on Wheels especially seeks to preserve the dignity, independence, and comfort of the kupuna who find it difficult to leave their homes. The combined efforts of many Meals on Wheels volunteers has led to the successful packaging and delivery of 382 thousand meals each year. Members of this organization even provide those they serve with a personal connection, brightening up their lives beyond just providing meals.

VOLUNTEER INFORMATION
Ages welcome to volunteer vary on event applied for.

Volunteer Requirements:

• Complete Volunteer Interest Form & Volunteer Application Form
• Must be at least 16 years old
• TB test with a negative result (within the last 10 years)
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Clean driving record (delivery volunteers only!)
• 2 (two) non-family, adult references

Volunteer Expectations:

• ​​Absence: At least 24-hours notice is needed for the program to make other arrangements.
• ​Dress Code: Clothing may be casual, however should be neat, clean and tasteful. Please wear close-toed shoes. Tank tops or short shorts/skirts are NOT permitted.
