HONOLULU MUSEUM OF ART VOLUNTEER WORKThe Honolulu Museum of Art is a lovely place to not only visit, but volunteer. Founded in 1922 by Anna Cooke, the museum started off as the Honolulu Academy of Arts, Anna and her husband initially collecting only personal art pieces. This small organization would eventually outgrow their home, when it would merge with the Contemporary Museum of Art in 2012, and become the Honolulu Museum of Art. Once merged, their mission became to create art in the form of relevant and transformative experiences by studying, preserving, and presenting the creative process of art. There are many exhibits and events for volunteers to attend and participate in the push for artistic preservation.
