KĀKOʻO ʻŌIWI VOLUNTEER WORKKākoʻo ʻŌiwi is a 501c3 non-profit organization based in Oahu. It is dedicated to promoting responsible natural resource management and preserving agricultural land in Hawaii that has long been threatened by urban development. With 405 acres of such land in Heʻeia, Kākoʻo ʻŌiwi hosts many educational and cultural activities. These include three differently-themed workdays held every month, growing taro, protecting native species, and caring for cultural landscapes, respectively.
