HO'OULU 'AINA VOLUNTEER WORKHo'oulu 'Āina is a beautiful, 100-acre nature preserve placed in the back of Kalihi Valley. Ho'oulu 'Āina is cared for by Kōkua Kalihi Valley Comprehensive Family Services, a nonprofit community health center. Their mission is to provide people the freedom to make connections and build meaningful relationships with the ʻāina and one another. At Ho'oulu 'Āina, the community comes together around the forest, food, knowledge, spirituality, and healthy activity. They teach that restoring the land to productivity and giving back the values of those before us is duel healing for us and the land. The health of the land and the people is one.
