MALAMA HULE'IA VOLUNTEER WORKMalama Huleia is an organization that has been working to restore Huleia River and Alakoko fishpond. This organization works with outstanding members of the community to remove the invasive red mangrove to make space re-plant native species. Malama Huleia has already cleared a very large portion of land along the Huleia River in Nawiliwili, Kauai. The organization was created when a group of local paddlers decided to take action against the encroaching tree line.
